What we collect

When you sign up, you connect your YouTube channel through Google's sign-in flow (“Subscribe with Google”), and we use your Google account's verified email address as the address we send your daily email to. TrendingBrew uses YouTube API Services for this connection and for looking up your channel and video data. You can review the Google Privacy Policy for how Google itself handles your data during that sign-in step, and you can revoke TrendingBrew's access at any time from your Google account permissions page.

We request read-only access to see the YouTube channel(s) on your Google account — we never see or ask for your Google password, we don't request your Google account email, and the access we request cannot post, upload, modify, or delete anything on your channel or account. We use that one-time access to show you which channel(s) are on your account so you can confirm the right one, then look up publicly available information about your channel and recent videos using the YouTube Data API — things like your channel name, description, subscriber count (when public), and recent video titles, view counts, and durations. We don't store the Google sign-in token itself; it's used only for that initial connection and then discarded. We don't collect any information from your device beyond what you enter in the signup form, and we don't use cookies or device storage to track you.

Why we collect it

We use your email to send you the daily TrendingBrew email. We use your public channel data to figure out your content niche, analyze what's working on your channel, find relevant trends, and generate the personalized recommendations in that email. We also record basic product usage events (like signing up or opening an email) so we can tell whether TrendingBrew is actually useful.

Who sees it

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate TrendingBrew — to host and store your data, to send the daily email, and to generate your personalized recommendations. These providers only process your data on our behalf, under contract, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Signing in happens through Google, which sees that you're using TrendingBrew for that authentication step. TrendingBrew's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not allow any third party to serve content or advertisements through TrendingBrew, we do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Data security

TrendingBrew uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect Google user data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Data transmitted between you, TrendingBrew, Google APIs, and our service providers is protected using industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). As noted above, we don't store your Google sign-in token — it's used only for the initial connection and then discarded — and the channel data we do retain is stored in a database that's locked down to our backend only, with no direct access from any browser or public endpoint.

Access to Google user data is restricted to the systems and personnel that need it to operate and maintain TrendingBrew. We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising purposes.

You can disconnect TrendingBrew from your Google account and revoke its access at any time from your Google account permissions page, and you can request deletion of your TrendingBrew data at any time (see “Your choices” below).

How long we keep it

We keep your subscriber record and recent channel snapshots for as long as you're subscribed, so we can keep generating relevant daily emails. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you and stop analyzing your channel going forward.

Your choices

Every email includes an unsubscribe link that immediately and permanently stops future emails — no login required. You can also email us to request that your data be deleted entirely.
